A Brief History of Go Skateboarding Day
Go Skateboarding Day was created by the International Association of Skateboard Companies (IASC) in 2004 to promote skateboarding events in major cities around the world. The aim has always been to make skateboarding more accessible, encouraging more people to give it a try for the first time.
Often referred to as International Skate Day, this celebration has grown from its US origins to a global event. Skaters in cities worldwide come together to celebrate the sport, promoting creativity, community, and healthy physical activity. It’s a day that strengthens the skateboarding community and encourages new skaters to join the fun.
